Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 is an overall great game it’s a new type for the call of duty series, usually they do world war two based video games but this game is based off of modern warfare. Its campaign is great and interesting. Its first person shooter and one game of the year for 2007.

Most important the multiplayer is quite great, you choose a side either American or terrorist and the better you do the more experience you gain. There is a leveling system and when you level you get special upgrades. One of them is when you die you dropping a grenade, another you can call in a helicopter attack, and another you can call in an airstrike. You also earn other things but along with that you get a military rank, you earn up the better you play. This game is great how ever there is some things lacking such as the knife, the knife is strangely amazing you can be getting shot and instead of falling down or being pushed back if your attacking with the knife you just go through it and one hit the person.

Overall this is a great game and a great multiplayer game. Also the multiplayer can be played online as well. Sadly though the Call of Duty series is going back to world war two warfare for their next game, let’s hope they can keep up with the good work.

As you see below theres a video this video shows the use of the upgrade last stand, where you fall to the ground pull out your pistol and have a chance at killing the opponent before bleeding out to death, if he shoots you again you die also. You’ll notice it says hold “X” for coward’s way out that means you just die and don’t put up a rest of a fight. (your opponent gets less points if you do this.)

Halo 3

The Halo series are fun exciting games with a great story line. Halo 3 the third game of the series, is an exception to that, the main campaign of halo 3 is not as enjoyable as the last two. The first two Halo’s always had basically the same idea in mind. You would go through out a level, killing all the enemy units (covenant, flood, and sentinels) and then you would end up going back through that level in reverse to escape later. It’ really simple idea, but in halo 3 they do this some of the time but what you see instead is them making a base point in a level and you have to return there after completing a mission objective, this becomes annoying, it also gets in the way of game play by making the levels more like mazes. Another downside is a pointless boss battle, the boss is extremely easy no matter what the difficulty and it’s just stupid who turns out to be the boss. On the last stage of the campaign they tried to remake the last stage of the first Halo, basically your driving a vehicle (warthog) to get to a ship so you can escape the Halo explosion. It is entertaining however the makers of the game must of ran out of ideas since you’re driving on these made up panel things.

The multiplayer for Halo 3 is excellent; it’s obvious this is where the creators spent most of their time. You can play online against people or against your friends. They changed a lot of the weapons and how they work and also where they are located on the level, to make everything as even as possible I believe they have done a successful job. The best part is every game you play; you can go back and view in a theater mode. You can switch to any players view point in this mode to see what happened, you can save clips or take screenshots as well.

Overall view as a multiplayer game Halo 3 is one of the best. However is main campaign mode is lacking greatly.

Rainbow Six Vegas

This is a first person shooter, you play as a member of a swat team, and you usually have 2 team members along your side. These team members you can give commands to. You can have them go up to a door, place a breaching charge blow the door off and then clear the room of terrorists, or you can have them open the door, throw a frag, or smoke, or flash grenade and then clear the room. This becomes repetitive but necessary to beat the game. Also you have a snake cam, which you can stick under doors and see what’s on the other side with out the enemy noticing you. More than that you can even target the enemy units on the other for each one of your team members to take out first. All of this makes the campaign extremely fun, but on top of that it’s challenging, you teammates can become downed, in which you need to or send the other one over to heal him. If they are down to long they die, also you die quickly if you get hit twice your probably dead, if the guy has a shotgun and it’s up close your dead. The story line is there, but it is the game play that keeps you going.

There is a mode called terrorist hunt in which you or you and a friend play a co-op mode, in this mode you select a map, and difficulty (difficulty ranges from normal to realistic same as campaign) you go around this map trying to kill all the terrorists in the time allotted. About these difficulties, in normal when you put that aiming circle over an enemy unit it turns red, how ever on realistic it doesn’t that’s pretty much the only difference, you may not think that’s much but to do most of this you need a teammate and you don’t want to get caught in friendly fire.

Also this game has an online mode where you can play against other people. Its basically like your playing yourself in a one on one battle royal. This is a great game and they have recently came out with a sequel to it. Hopefully it will be as good as this.

Madden 2007

Most of the madden football games are basically the same thing; however for the 2007 edition they added some new features. As a Football game I find it to be the worse, some people prefer the changes, but I believe all they did was hinder the game play.

A new function called the QB vision has been added, what this does is let you see easier the receivers that are open and the button you have to throw to that receiver. Also it highlights the screen area. How could this possibly be bad your asking yourself well for starters you already know which button to throw to which receive, to use this QB vision you have to hold down the right trigger (Xbox 360) if you’re not in QB vision you can’t throw the ball also you can’t immediately go into QB vision since the ball has to be hiked to the QB and pressing that trigger button to soon will mess the play up.

Another new feature they added is a mode called super star mode. In this mode you can do random things that star players do such as choosing which products you will endorse, and deciding whether or not you will take a role in a film. I have to admit that is kind of neat and is the best part of this function. You are basically supposed to live as a super star player, most of your days all you have are repetitive practices, however you can skip and go straight to games. But that’s actually pretty cool, now what sucks about this mode is you don’t get to choose the position you play it is based off your parents occupation. What sucks is when you’re stuck as a linebacker or any defensive man, it’s just boring, and most people just want to be QB. To make it worse you don’t play half the game if you’re on offense and your defense players played by computers mess up you’re screwed, and yes you do get to sit through the whole thing and watch as you’re not playing.

So if you plan on playing a madden game just play an older version it’s cheaper and you don’t have to deal with that new crap.
